Scheduling & Visits

What should I expect at the initial consultation?

At your initial consultation you will be given an opportunity to discuss your personal health goals with a functional medicine provider. This will be an opportunity for you and our staff to identify if you are a good candidate for our services.

Should I bring anything with me to the consultation?

We ask that you bring any pertinent medical records, supplements, medication and lab test results with you. If you are not the financial decision maker, we ask that you bring your significant other with you to the consultation.

How long should I expect the consultation to last?

Expect the consultation to last for 60 minutes. If you are a good candidate for our care we will go over the test kits and some paperwork to get you started. This will be an addition 10-15 minutes. We value your time and do our best to provide a timely service.

Does your office take insurance for Functional Medicine services?

We do not accept insurance or Medicare for our consulting services.

What are your office hours?

Our office hours are Monday to Friday 10 AM – 6 PM EST

Do I still need a primary care physician?

Yes, we do not provide acute care services and we do not replace the services that your current medical team provides. We provide a stand-alone service.

Will I see other practitioners?

Yes, you will work with a team of experts to help you accomplish your health goals. These may include nutritionist, pharmacist, high performance coach, clean home specialist, mindset mastery specialist and lifestyle coaches.

Does your office accept patients that live in other cities/countries?

Yes, we can work with any person in any country.

What is included in the Essentials Program?

Do I qualify for the Essentials Program?

This program is for anyone looking to optimize their heath. The only time somebody is not qualified is if their health is too far-gone or their condition requires urgent medical attention. If a client is not motivated, engaged and willing to take the steps necessary to get healthy they would not be a good candidate.

Is the Essentials Program and lab testing covered by insurance?

Our programs and functional lab testing is typically not covered by insurance.

Does the cost of the initial appointment apply towards the cost of a program?

Yes, your first appointment is one of your eight appointments. We apply your payment to the total cost of the program and therefore you are paying into the program when you schedule your first appointment.

Can my appointments be done over the phone or Zoom?

Yes. We recommend that your first appointment is done in person so we can meet with you and make sure we’re a good fit for each other. If that’s not possible, we can do your appointment on the phone or video conference so we can more be engaged and help you along the process.

Who will my second and third appointment be with?

Your second appointment will be with a Lifestyle Coach and they will be focusing on your dietary aspects, recipes and menu. She will also provide you with lifestyle coaching and consulting so you’ll walk away with actionable steps you can implement right away to get your health on the right track. Your third appointment will be with your clinician who will be overseeing your case, answering your questions and recording your lab result videos. This third appointment is designed to review your lab results.

Is it mandatory to use all my appointments?

If you are a self-starter and like to be independent it is not mandatory to use all appointments as you have direct clinician access. The program’s core value is in evaluating your history, building your clinical case, ordering the right testing, educating and designing a unique solution for you that addresses your six pillars. Our goal is to empower you and guide you on the right path so you can use these strategies for the rest of your life. You are always welcome to use the remaining 3 appointments as needed to focus on your clinical, nutritional or coaching needs.

How does the lab testing work?

The lab testing is typically done at home. In some instances you might have to get blood work done. We will direct you to the lab that coordinates that. Many of the tests have shipping included in the cost of the kits, if not you will be responsible for the shipping. You will get instructions in more detail on how to do the test kits and the kits come with clear instructions as well. Payment is made directly to the lab to ensure you have the lowest price possible.

What happens at the end of the essentials program?

Once we have gotten you to a stable place you can follow up as needed. If you require additional support after your essentials program is complete you have the several options:

  • $149 for a 30min  appointment
  • $299 for a 60min  appointment
  • $349 for 3 x 30min appointments package
  • $650for 3 x 60min appointments package

Can we work together remotely?

Yes! With the exception of a blood draw (if necessary) all lab test kits can be mailed to you and performed in the privacy of your own home, then mailed back to the lab along with your sample(s). Once we receive your results from the lab, we will email you a brief video interpretation of your results followed by a one hour appointment to go over them in greater detail. Appointments with any Living Proof Institute team member can be done from the comfort of your own home or office via phone, Zoom, or Skype from virtually anywhere in the world.

Is lab testing necessary for the program?

Yes! Labs are a vital part of the process in uncovering hidden malfunctions, discovering healing opportunities, and getting to the root cause of your health issues. Without the data and information that labs provide us, we would just be guessing what’s wrong with you. We don’t guess…we test.

How long does it take to heal?

There are many factors involved in determining how long it will take for an individual to heal, such as your level of participation and commitment, your individual health issues, and your current state of vitality. It’s important to understand that it’s not reasonable to expect to undo decades of damage in just a few weeks. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to healing, because we’re all unique individuals with different histories, abilities, lifestyles, and needs. This means the healing process will be as unique as you and we like to allow it to unfold naturally as your body permits. No matter how long it takes, our entire team is here to support you throughout your healing journey.

Can we continue working together when the program is over?

Yes! While we endeavor to provide you with everything you need to become liberated from the “symptom-management” system, many patients come to realize that a healthy mind, body, and spirit is priceless, and as such they find comfort and value in continuing with ongoing support from our team. Whether you choose to adopt a proactive approach to maintaining your health, or if you require additional support after your program is complete, we make it easy and affordable for you with a few options. Our goal is to provide the right amount of support to facilitate your goals. 

Regardless of what you choose, you have lifetime access to our interactive online Living Proof Community with thousands of other heart-centered health-seekers, as well as our online self-care courses.

How much is the Initial Consultation?

The initial consultation is $299 (plus tax where applicable).

Does your office offer single lab tests or a-la-carte testing?

We do not offer a-la-carte testing since this goes against the paradigm of functional medicine. If we are going to address the root cause of your health issues, we will need to take a more comprehensive approach. We only work with patients on a case management basis in one of our programs.

What is the investment to join the Living Proof Program?

Living Proof Essentials is $2997 (plus taxes where applicable).

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept, cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Discover card is also accepted for US patients only.

Do you offer financing services?

Yes, we offer patient financing through Medicard.

How much should I budget for functional lab testing cost?

By joining our essentials program you have access to direct pricing on lab test kits, which ensure you pay the lowest price possible. On average, you should budget between $500-$1500 for functional lab.

What happens at the end of the essentials program?

How much do lab fees cost?

We will determine which lab test(s) will be necessary during our initial discovery session and will depend upon the information discussed at that time. On average, you can expect to spend between $500-$1500 for initial testing. In some cases, follow-up testing may be advisable to monitor things such as hormone balancing or the eradication of a gut pathogen. Regardless of how much you pay in lab fees, we’ve made every effort to ensure that you’re receiving direct-lab wholesale pricing on all lab tests.
